5K !!!

So did it!! My friend Lisa, Leslie, Travis and myself all ran in a 5K today. It was awesome!! I'm so glad that I tried it and finished! It was a part of the Med City Marathon in Rochester MN. I can't wait to try one again. My run time was 36 minutes!! Not to bad for a beginner :) It was such a neat thing to be a part of.

Axel's first joke

It's funny how all you have to do it read some thing once to a kid and they remember it. (I should say when they think it's worth remembering) Axel learned his first joke-here it goes!
Axel: Knock knock

Me: Who's there?

Axel: Boo

Me: Boo who?

Axel: Mom don't cry!

What a little character! He loves this joke now and will tell it over and over again giggling! I hope every one had a great Mother's Day. I had a wonderful day with my boys and Axel gave me the best gift-he peed on the potty for the first time!! Whoo Hoo!! For those who don't know our madness-we are moving again back to Rochester. Same house just a different year :) I took his potty chair back into the house and he asked to used and he actually peed! He's pooped before on the big potty but the pee is a new thing for us. He did it a few times on Sunday and once again today. Yeah for Axel! It's good start any ways. Axel just loves our 'new' house. He thinks it's so fun exploring all the new rooms and his new neighborhood-that has a park very close. Axel's favorite games right now-hide n seek and playing with forts. He will have me count and then he hides some where and every thing in out house is turned in to a fort. He loves all the boxes that we have right now! All for now. once I get organized with the move I'll post a few new pictures. (yeah for Internet at home!!)

Conversation with a 2 year old

I love how funny a 2 year old can be. Here's the conversation the other night as I was cooking dinner.
Axel: "Hi Mom, I like apples."

Me: "You do, what kind of apples to you like?"

Axel: "Um.. green ones I eat, red ones I like."

Me: "I like green and red apples too. Do you know that there are yellow apples also?"

Axel: "Oh yeah! Go to store and buy more apples Mom."

This totally came out of the blue. We had no apples in the house at the time and I didn't say any thing about apples while I was cooking. It's cute to see what they are thinking. I just love all the language Axel has been learning. I'll have to make sure that we check all the colors of apples next time we go to the store.

Happy Easter

So I'm always late on my posts these days. But Happy Easter every one! We had a great day. I ended up not having to work! (thanks to my wonderful co-worker Donna) Yes, I know I work at a catholic hospital and they don't count Easter as a holiday on my floor? (don't ask) Axel loved the jelly bean trail that he found that lead to his basket. It was so fun watching him. At first he skipped to the middle of the trail but then he realized that it was candy and had to go back to the beginning and shove as many in his mouth as possible. (my friend has the cutest idea about taking the hollow chocolate bunny you bit his ears off and filled it full of milk and then drink it with a straw) Well I wanted to try this year and when I opened the bunny he had a stinken hole in the bottom! Bummer... Axel didn't care he thought eating chocolate for breakfast was the coolest! Next year I'll have to try it again. We first stopped by Grandma Ann's house. She gave Axel a cute little basket with treats, a book and a new summer outfit. Then we went to my parent's for dinner. Had great food and Axel loved running around with his cousins. The kids did a egg hunt-which was a blast-country yard makes for a fun hunt! My dad hide a turkey egg so who ever found that one got $5! Congrat's to Maddie. (yes, my parent's are hobby farmers now) Axel just loves it at my parent's because the have all kinds of animals to watch-chickens, turkey's and puppies-they also used to have pigs and a goat!) Axel of course got totally spoiled by all his Easter bunnies. Thanks all the grandparent's/great-grandma Bev for the basket's and nice gifts. I even got a basket this year! (Axel might have gotten puzzles, bubbles, a kite and a flashlight but nothing beats getting new towels in your basket-that's what mom got!) To cool. Hope every one was as blessed as we were. I'll get some pictures posted soon!

5K

Okay, so I'm turning the big 30 this summer and I am not sure how it's going to go. :) I just don't feel like I'm already that old! Crazy..anyways since I'm turning 30 I've decided that I want to do some thing big and different than I've ever done before. I thought about dying my hair blond, getting a piercing or tattoo or some thing fun like that..but is that really new and different? So I've decided to run in a 5K!! I know what your thinking....Shanna run? Well I don't really have a history of running but I have officially started to jog (I don't say run-that's a scary word) and I plan on jogging in a 5K at the end of May in Rochester. (4 days after I turn 30) I have a plan-couch potato to 5K in 8 weeks! Brian said that he would do it with me and a friend from work-Lisa will also be jogging it with me. A 5K is only 3.1 miles and you can walk it if needed. So I guess now that it's in print it's official!! Gulp....hope I don't pass out:)
