Girdwood

Today we went to Girdwood. It's a cute little town about 40 minutes south of Anchorage. It was a nice drive with amazing ocean(called the turn again arm area/inlet) and mountain views. It was fun to check out another new town. There are so many places to see here! Work is going well and I think we are starting to feel like things are getting more normal feeling. The weather has been getting cooler-like 30's in the morning and only getting to 40-50's during the day. The mountains are starting to get more and more snow on them-it's call termination dust. I guess you watch the moutains and as the snow get lower on them the closer we are to getting snow here. I think it has been getting lower every day. I've heard that we should have snow by Halloween. We'll see....
Axel started a kid group called Kneehi Naturalist. It's at the Nature Center by our house. The group learns about nature and animals. The do coloring/crafts, read books and them go outside on hikes to find the stuff they learn about. Today was Axel's first day. He is the youngest in the group but he did really good listening and following the teacher during the hike. (of course we were there too) Axel learned about trees and leaves today. He thought it was really fun to go outside and find what we were reading in the book. He also thought the bear poop we found on the track was super cool! Of course...he loves talking about poop. Once the teacher said poop Axel was hooked! Axel has been learning about poop (because we keep trying to attempt potty training) and he loves to tell you about all the things that poop-like birds, bears, dogs, people..he would just keep going on and on. The potty training hasn't been going very well. He just has no intrest. I'll ask him about going and he jsut says "No mom I'll pee in my diaper". Okay if he can say this I think he should be ready to not pee in a diaper any more. All we can do is keep trying I guess. He's smart enough, he's just to stubborn, he'll do it when he's ready not when mom wants him to-I hope.
