5K

Okay, so I'm turning the big 30 this summer and I am not sure how it's going to go. :) I just don't feel like I'm already that old! Crazy..anyways since I'm turning 30 I've decided that I want to do some thing big and different than I've ever done before. I thought about dying my hair blond, getting a piercing or tattoo or some thing fun like that..but is that really new and different? So I've decided to run in a 5K!! I know what your thinking....Shanna run? Well I don't really have a history of running but I have officially started to jog (I don't say run-that's a scary word) and I plan on jogging in a 5K at the end of May in Rochester. (4 days after I turn 30) I have a plan-couch potato to 5K in 8 weeks! Brian said that he would do it with me and a friend from work-Lisa will also be jogging it with me. A 5K is only 3.1 miles and you can walk it if needed. So I guess now that it's in print it's official!! Gulp....hope I don't pass out:)

Bribing a 2 year old?

I worked nights this weekend so dad and Axel were on there own. It's so cute to see what those two end up doing when I'm not around. They always are working with some type of tool-"fixing things" (or as Axel says "I fix it!"), they walk around the house with their 'walking sticks' {that Brian whittled-seriously it's his new thing-don't ask :) }, they build forts in the snow and always have some new adventure that they are in to. They always have so much fun together. I hate working weekends but at least they have fun.

Well when I got home today after my night shift Brian and Axel were eating breakfast. Of course Axel was just picking at things. It's amazing how little he can eat some days. I swear he lives off of goldfish crackers and chocolate milk some times. Anyways Brian was trying to get him to eat more breakfast this morning so he told Axel that if he took another bite he would give him some money! I know what you thinking-money to a 2 year old? But Axel was stoked-he said "more money!" and started eating like a champ, but every two bites or so he would say "more money". Luckily Brian started with pennies. What ever works I guess?!

On a side note

Ok, once I'm home I always remember more to share on my blog. The main reason why I started a blog was to have stories to share one day with my kids. Stories that I could remember always...So here's a story that happened the other day when I was cooking dinner. Axel was helping me so I gave him a spoon to sample what I was cooking. He walked away with his spoon then a little later I hear him saying "hmm that's good!" After the third time of him saying this I turn around to see what he was talking about. (it couldn't still be the one little spoonful of cookie dough that he had) I turn around to find him scooping water out of the dog bowl and saying "hmm that's good!" Gross....

Another phrase Axel loves to say is "I did it!" And he's always very proud of what ever he got to do. Oh I forgot to mention last month that Brian and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary! Can you believe that we have been married that long? Crazy.... Thanks Brian for sticking around that long! All for now.

What we've been up to...

Axel showing mom the cookie dough on his face
Cookies!!!
Tasting the magic.....

Making homemade cookies with mom.

Attacking mom for a kiss

Just playing around

Loves to wear his underwear...with a diaper underneath still

Sorry I haven't been the best at updating my blog for the last month. We all have been doing great-just getting stir crazy for spring. Axel keeps amazing me every day with some thing new that he does. He has been talking so much lately. I swear full sententces half of the time. His new favorite words are "buy more mom" like when I tell him we are out of cookies or choclate milk. The other day when he was going to bed he really wanted more ice in his cup (another thing that he likes is so cool-ice) anyways I told him that we were all out of ice and would have to get more in the morning. So the second he woke up the next day what did he say? "Mom buy more ice!" I can't believe that he remembered that next day.

My friend Jacky and Brady had their baby about a week ago. Congrat's again guys! Grayson John Malloy 9 lbs 1 oz! What a big boy! Welcome to the underworld of parenthood guys!!!

Things Axel is in to:
-he loves the Shrek movies-can't get enough of them!
-he loves to play outside-even when it's cold outside
-he still sleeps with Donald Duck every night
-he loves jammin to music and dancing around
-he is into following anything that Mom or Dad do
-he's doing really good on his big boy bed

I'm sure there is more I am just drawing a blank no that I get to finally write it down. Here are some new pictures also! Of course I always go over board on the pictures but I take so many i have to share!!
