Axel went to the doctor today. His check up went great! He had to get 2 shots, but he did pretty well. Here are his Stat's-
weight-19 lbs and 13 oz
height-30 inches
We don't worry about the percentile. He's growing and following his own curve. Axel still doesn't walk yet. I think he's just a cautious little guy and he will do it when he thinks he's ready. He stood up in the middle of the room a couple of times and he climbs on every thing! It amazes me how much he can climb and jump on my furniture but yet he won't walk! Little nerd. Otherwise he continues to walk along things and crawl around like a mad man. Axel is a great eater. He loves veggies. I think he would eat any veggie that I gave him. He really likes green bean, peas and his new favorite are black beans! He also likes fruit and of course any type of pasta. He has 6 teeth now and a ton of blond hair. (thanks uncle Chuck for calling him a girl on Easter!) We have decided not to cut his hair. I'm not sure when we will but not right now. I think he looks cute with all his long blond hair! Axel loves books, taking a bath and playing catch. (we roll a ball to him and he throws/rolls it back to us) He sure is a lot fun!
Oh..I don't know if I've shared with every one but we just moved. We are renting our house in Rochester out-to 4 nurses from Mayo. We have moved to Goodhue now. We are staying at our friend Jason's house. He has a house that is set up like a duplex and we have one half. We are unsure what are plans are but for the time being we are staying at Jason's, which will give us time to figure out what we want. It's really nice-we have 3 bedrooms, 1800 square feet and we are in the country!! (smaller than our house was but I love being able to grill and not have all my neighbors starring at me) I don't think I will ever move back to town. Once we get organized I'd like to have a bon fire party-I'll keep you guys posted.

Easter
Axel had a great Easter. He got a total of 4 Easter baskets! What a soiled little man. Axel woke up to his first basket from the Easter bunny. It had a movie, some finger paints(which should be a good fun messy time!), peeps, a chocolate bunny and some bug's(plastic toys)! To fun, he loved the peeps and really liked his chocolate bunny! He bit the ears off in one bite! Then his dad shared the rest with him-mom didn't even get one bite. :( We all went to Aunt Tracy's house for lunch. She is such an amazing cook. We had pork and beef roasts on the grill. It was super yummy! Axel really liked the strawberry yogurt salad that grandma Ann made. Axel got a Easter basket from grandma Ann that had a new book, socks and candy in it. We had a mini egg hunt for Ethan and Axel. Axel loves to watch Ethan. He wants to try every thing that Ethan does. Luckily Ethan is so sweat and really tolerates Axel playing with his toys and trying to follow him around every where.
After Tracy's we went to my parent's house where the extended Haan Easter was happening. It was nice to see a bunch of family that we don't get to run into very often. (it was the first time that most of my aunts and uncle met Axel.) Axel got 2 basket's at Grandma Hamblin's Easter-one from his grandma and grandpa Hamblin and one from his great Grandma hamblin. Axel thought it was pretty cool getting treats and toys and each place he went to! Grandma Hamblin got him some bubbles-we haven't tried them yet-but I'll let you know how it goes. Great Grandma got Axel a new book and some treat's that he loved. The older kids all got kites for Easter. We went out side to watch and Axel couldn't get enough! He loves to watch older kids and all the stuff they know how to do.
Axel loved being out side for a good part of the day and it helped him sleep through the night! (which he really doesn't do so it was a nice break for mom!) Thanks to all of Axel's Easter bunnies! I have a bunch of pictures that I'll post some time soon.

Axel saying cheese!

I haven't updated my pictures in a while so here are a few new ones. Axel sure has learned how to smile for the camera! He is such a ham. Axel is working on two new teeth. That will be a total of 6 now! His smile is so cute with all those teeth. Do you like the splash guards that we use under his highchair? He loves throwing his food on the ground! (normally the dogs clean the floor up, but when they aren't around plastic works almost as good) At least his daddy always has plenty of extra plastic around the house!! My camera is kinda cruddy so some of the pictures didn't turn out the best:(
Duluth house

Here are some pictures of the house in Duluth. About a month ago we bought in on my brothers house in Duluth. So now we own 1/3 of a house in Duluth! (with my parent's and my brother) My brother had the house when he went to school up there but couldn't sell it so we bought in on it with him. The house is about 4 blocks away from the lake, 1 block from a park and 1 block from trails. I can't wait until it's nice out so we can explore Duluth more. It's so much fun there!! As you can tell they still have a lot of snow up there but things are starting to melt.

Sleeping in and enjoying the weekend.
Hey guys. It sure has been a busy month huh? At least the weather is getting nicer out and we can finally start going for walks again! Yeah!! Axel is doing well. he is starting to get two more teeth. (both on the top) So that will be a total of 6 teeth! He thinks he's ready to try a steak but I told him he would have to wait a little longer.
So I have to tell you a story about some amazing sleeping Axel did the other weekend. Brian and I went out with some friends last weekend (thanks Brady and Jackie) and Axel stayed with Grandma Rapp. We ended up picking Axel and bringing him home because it wasn't to late. So we went to bed thinking morning sure is going to come early. Well when I stretched out in bed the next morning slowly waking up I then woke up in a panic because I realized that Axel wasn't waking me up, I woke up by myself. I looked at Brian and asked him if he got up with Axel, which he said no, then I asked him what time it was. Brian informed me that it was noon!!! What? Noon? OMG!! I ran into Axel's room expecting I don't know what...but there he was crashed out in his bed with his feet up on the side rails. I had to call Grandma to see what time he went to bed. She told me that he was sound asleep at 8pm. Wow huh?! I couldn't believe it. Oh..and then he took a 3 hour nap that day and was back in bed by 8pm again. I thought that he was going to be at least 6 foot when he woke up the next day!! Talking about needing a nap huh? I wish he'd do that every weekend.
We went to Duluth last weekend and had a great time. We hung out at the house, had no dogs to take care of and got to spend the whole weekend with uncle James. We went out for Indian food, which Axel really liked! Otherwise we took naps on the couch and enjoyed the wonderful weather! It was a good weekend. I have some new pictures that I will try and post some time soon. hope all is well with every one.

The flu bug..
So every one in our house has finally gotten the flu bug. Yuck.. Axel was the first. We were on our way to visit some friends on Saturday evening, sitting at the gas station, when Axel threw up all over the truck. Luckily we were still in town so we went back home and sure enough more throwing up! (I thought for a moment it was his first happy meal coming back up) Axel got sick 6 or 7 times that night. All I could do was hold him over the sink and keep washing his blankets. Then the next morning while I was cleaning more of his blankets Axel was crying from the steps so I went to see what was up and.... he had a CODE BROWN on the stairs!! (which are carpet!!) Gross.. So I cleaned him up again, this time straight to the bath tub and tried to get to the stairs before my super helpful dogs did the job for me! Gross again!! Then Brian got sick on Sunday and I got sick on Monday. Brian and I seem fine now but for some reason Axel threw up again today? I hope this doesn't keep going. The family that pukes together....
Axel was supposed to start his new daycare this week, but he hasn't been able to yet because he's been sick. Yes, he is starting another daycare!! Yikes we have had some issues with daycare. To make it a long story short... Brian went to pick Axel up the other day and ended up picking him up early-like 2 hours early. Well when he got to daycare there was a lady who neither of us have met before watching the kids. Then she asked Brian "what kid is yours!!" She then called our daycare lady-where ever she was and asked what kid his was.!? So needless to say we didn't really feel all that great about the situation. When I called my daycare lady about it she was very defensive and got fired because of it! How many times had this no name lady watched my kid and I knew nothing about it?! Who else was there... to many questions to go through again... So now once again we were on the search for new daycare. But we luckily found one in Cannon Falls which I think will be good. I hope!! At least in Cannon there are a lot of family that can stop by when ever they want. But I'll miss being able to go get Axel early when I get off my night shifts. It sucks that some one else has to watch my guy during the day. I wish there was a better way.
Axel is starting to get pretty verbal. Here are his words so far. "what's that"-he says this one to every thing! "Mom", "daddy", "sock", "hey"-he doesn't say Hi he says Hey-to funny. He also kinda know "Jazzy"-our dog but it's not the clearest word yet. He loves to blow kisses and wave bye-bye also. These are a little more fun then the code browns all over my house!

13 months
Axel is 13 months now! It's crazy thinking back 1 year ago. He is so much fun. He isn't walking yet but he walks along every thing and likes to get around with his walking toy. He is starting to get more daring and reach for the table or chair that is just out of his reach but he knows that he can go down to his knees and be faster. Soon he'll be truckin all over.
He has 4 teeth now. 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. He is a pretty good eater. It just depends the day. He really likes cheese, pasta, oranges and gold fish crackers. He is starting to use his sippy cup more but he really likes his bottle and I don't think I'll get him to give it up for a while. Axel sleeps thru the night now, for the most part, which is awesome!
He loves to stack things and organizes things. I will come check on him when he's playing and he will put the same blocks or balls in one tupperware and another kind in another. It's wierd. Brian said he was a big stack/organizer when he was little-so maybe he's gets it from his daddy? Axel also still really likes his blanket. He carries it around the house and has to have it to go to bed. He loves to make a mess-pulling every thing out cupboards, drawers and toy bins. He isn't very good at putting things away yet! So needless to say I always have a pile of some thing to pick up. He also really understand things now. Like when you say "go get your blanket", he will go across the room and get it. Or "where's your blocks" he will go find every single block he can and bring them to you. It's cool watching him start to really soak things in. Axel also learned then word "NO" well, kinda, when we say "NO NO" (when he's getting into some thing that he shouldn't) he likes to shake his head side to side and smile. It's hard not to laugh or smile back because it's cute. But how do I teach him the meaning of NO? Now what I have been doing is really watching my head and not shake it at all, keep a straight face and I just move him to some thing he can play with. But of course he just crawls back arcoss the room the item I just moves him away from. (My plants are so going to have no soil left this year!) All for now... enjoy the sunny weekend.
