Selfies

I read an article the other day and it discussed the important of taking selfies with your kids and making sure that you as the parent are in pictures with them.  The article explained that when taking pictures with your kids it increases their confidence and reminds them that you as the parent are also confident enough to be in pictures.  Needless to say.....this helped me justify the many pictures I take of and with my kids.  I'm teaching them confidence! :)  So because I can love myself, no matter the flaws, my children will also love themselves. Where is my selfie stick?!!

37 years old...gulp! :)

So much is different, yet so much is the same!

So it was my birthday this weekend.  I turn the pages on another year!  Time sure does seem to be cruising by.  I turned 37!  Gulp... wow... when did I get this old?  Don't get me wrong, I'm not freaking out about my age or any thing but it just really seems like a grown up number now.  I totally don't feel like I'm 37- well I guess what does 37 supposed to feel like?  Maybe I do feel 37?  It's a funny thought.... So here I am at 37. (still no grey hair- so I'll take that as a plus!)
I got to spend my B-day with my sister and some friends at a wedding.  My friend Ritu, who I haven't seen in years flew in from New York and I got to be her plus one to a wedding.  The wedding was for a girl that we both used to teach dance to.  It was fun to spend the day dressed up and with old school friends!  It's crazy how time and distance can separate us but so many things remain the same.  No matter life's curve balls some people will always have a place in you heart- these are some of those people for me.  Cheers to another year!

My brown eye boy is 6?!!!  Where does the time go, really?!  Abel you are such an amazing little boy!  You have a great personality, your sweat to every one, your funny and your a good big and little brother.  You are almost done with kindergarten, which you have enjoyed and really blossomed in.  You have learned how to read and do math this year.  You like to play board games, play games on your tablet and be crazy with your brothers.  You like to be outside, ride your bike and play soccer.  You still like to dress in costumes and always gives your Momma hugs.

We had our traditional family celebration at Buca's.  We go there for every birthday!! It's fun to have a place that our boys know as our party place.  Every one eats well there and the kitchen table is so much fun.  Watching the chefs is always amazing!  Abel I love you so much!! Keep being the person you are but slow down with the birthdays!
