It was so nice out last week but the weather has taken a change again.  We even got snow this weekend!  It's already melted and I'm sure it'll really start to warm up now but we loved the little taste of sunshine!  We played at the park, walked to bakery and even opened the windows.  Spring we know you around the corner! We are ready.... I can't wait for all the outside fun we will have this summer!  Big brother Axel was at school this time but soon we will all be home and playing together.

The Birds & The Bees

Kids say the darnest things:
So the other day I was at work and I called home during lunch to check on the boys.  Brain said the boys had asked him a question and he wasn't sure how to answer it.  He said the boys asked him if he has ever seen a vagina?!  And they were wondering if they could see one?! Here's the convo he told me about:
Boys- Dad have you ever seen a vagina?
Dad- Umm...why?
Boys- We have never seen one and were wondering what it looks like. Have you ever seen mom's?
Dad- Ahh...no, yes?!
Boys- Have you taken a picture of it?
Dad- Why would you do that?
Boys- So you can look at it later!
Dad- Good point, but no.  I have not and we don't want to think of mom like that.
Boys- So can we see one?

This is when I happen to call the house.  Brian was like well...what do I do? (Brian and I believe in using the real words for body parts & having open communication but we did not think about how smart kids are at young ages!)  I guess we decided to have them google a medical diagram. So they did.  Abel giggled and said that looks like a butt!  Axel was interested and asked a few questions.  (he said well if we are mammels then the girls don't lay eggs- they stay in their stomache, right?!)  Brian said it went well & wasn't as awkard as he thought it would be.  Wow.... I didn't think we would be having the birds and the bees conversation yet but it was a start. It blows me away the stuff Axel knows already.

Nice job Brian...thanks for starting the "talk".  Here's hoping the next time it goes just as smooth :)

Goofball #1

Goofball #2
Ansel at 2 years old:

Favorites: Loves his blue blankets, sleeping with a teddy bear , doing any thing your brother do
Food:  You are still a good eater. You are very good at throwing your food.  You say "done" and then about 5 seconds later you throw your whole plate on the floor.  You still drink from a bottle- at night and at nap time.  We are working on it....
Sleeping: You still take one nap a day- normally 2 hours long.  You still wake up at night a lot.  I hope this doesn't continue much longer.  It is so nice when you do sleep through the night.
Words:  You have so many words now!! More, Done, Hi, Buy, Mom, Baby, Bottle (bobble), Big (our dog's name), Hank (ank- other dogs name), Daddy (even though you do not say this one much- I have heard it).
Stuff you do:  You are the craziest, busy little boy.  You do or try to do everything that your brothers do.  You so have the "I'm the 3rd boy thing".  You love your brothers so much.  They make you happy & giggle a lot.  You make the biggest messes.  No cupboard is safe- the junk drawer, tupperware, pots & pans, any thing you get into you make a mess with!  You climb on everything!  The couch, chairs, beds, every thing!
