Breakaway music festival

B and I went to the Breakaway Music Festival. Fun to jump back and forth to two different stages. Each area had its own vibe. The day was perfect and sunny until it rained ! For an hour ! Agg, we tried to find shelter but ended up embracing it and hung out in the rain. Luckily it didn’t last two long and we were able to dry off before the sunset. I love EDM. :)

This is how B felt :) it’s all about how you bring it!

VIP section: better bathrooms and a bit closer to the stage. Still long lines and no rain shelters.

Grabbitz !

The crazy Ferris wheel ride. It was raining and we almost got stuck. Oh man I couldn’t get off this ride soon enough. This was B’s face ;)

The line up.

Okoboji

Pizza stop
Sunset peaking through the clouds
Iowa state parks : only $20 to stay and don’t need a reservation.

Cheese !
Fun hiking trails with lake and channel access. This area is so cool. Super nice giant chain lakes. They call it “the Hamptons” of the Midwest. Lots of big houses and boats to match.

Great place to watch that boat traffic.

Hike to little chapel in the woods
My favorite spot. Watching the lake, sunshine and good company.

This trip was just B and I.nice to have time just the two of us. Thanks Grandma Ann for keeping an eye on the boys while we are gone.

The windy road to Washington island . The documentary stated that the guys who made the roads didn’t want anyone to be bored so he added a few curves.

Boys doing dishes

Axel and Sydney’s camp site. The KOA didn’t let us put a tent on our site so they got their own, just a few appts away. I’m sure they enjoyed the space. Even though they are getting more and more independent- they still want mom to bring coffee and muffins in the morning.

We had such a great first trip. I’m honored and blessed to share this human experience with my kids and the people they love. I’m here for it and can’t wait for the next trip! Door county we will be back. So much to see and never enough time!!

Cheers to summer plans !!
