Fun Fruit

Trying new strange fruit is so fun! It’s crazy how many different fruits there are. These two were labeled as scary fruits at our grocery store.  We look up where they are from and how they are grown.

Goblin fingers. This one came from India. They grow on a tree and it smells amazing! Like a lemon.  The fruit inside was kinda hard and didn’t taste like much.

Rambutans. These are grown on a tree in South Asia.  You cut the skin layer off and eat the inside- just not the seed that is in the center. This one was more dense then I thought and kinda sweet but also really didn’t have a ton of flavor.
Friday night entertainment! I think we will stick with our regular fruits like bananas and apples but it’s fun to try new things.

Cloud Bread

First attempt on making cloud bread.  It's super popular on Tic Toc.  The boys wanted to give it a try.  I looked up the recipe and gave it a try.

We tried a little blue and green coloring.

For some reason I couldn't get it to thicken up.  It's supposed to be whipped enough that it creates a solid dough to lay out on the pan.  Mine was liquid?  I put it in a pan any ways in hopes it would turn out.  I kept reading...it's super easy to make!
Hhmmm.... it doesn't quite look like it should?!!  It was formed but seemed to half separate?   Axel said it looked like a bar of soap.
Yeah... not like it looks on Tic Toc?
Laughing at Mom's attempt but still willing to try it.  It was SUPER gross.
Smells like sulfur and tastes like goo?

2nd attempt of making cloud bread
This time I watched a video, a couple of times.  I mixed each part separate and whipped it MUCH more.  All of a sudden it started to thicken and start to look right.  It was thick enough to make a dough!
                                                             Yep!  Looks good.

                                                             Oh yeah baby....cloud bread.
So much better!   But still smelled like sulfur?
                                                                 Take that Tic Toc!!

Looks great!  Didn't taste that great but it never told us what it would taste like.  :)

I'll count it as a success!!  Cloud Bread :)

Last RV trip for the season

Brian and I took advantage of the nice weather this weekend and went camping for one night in Lanesboro, MN.  Thanks Ann for watching the boys!  It was a prefect fall day.  We got to walk around the town, look at the fun little shops, go on a bike ride, go to the farmers market and even got homemade Amish goods!  I really like Lanseboro.  My great grandma used to live there.  I haven't been there now in a few years since she has passed.  It is still one of my favorite little hidden MN towns.  It was great way to send our RV adventures for the year.  It will be bittersweet getting the RV ready for winter.  Boo...

                                                                     Love the fall colors.

Rode the ebikes.  We went about 20 miles- all the way to Peterson and back.  Thanks Bob for letting us use your bikes.  They are so much fun.

Last camp fire of the year.  It's been such a great summer having the RV.  It really allowed us to have some many adventures and stay COVID safe.  It was a great addition!  Can't believe the season is done.  I am not ready for the cold weather and winter.  At least I have a ton of great summer memories to look back on.

Tabasco Sauce

 Tabasco Sauce.

We took all the  peppers from the plant to make our sauce.  We really didn't know what else to do with the peppers.  We sampled one little pepper and it was HOT!

After 2 weeks of waiting it's done.
