Big Pine Lake

Me and the boys headed to the cabin last week.  I am still working every weekend- Fri, Sat & Sun- the one nice thing about working every weekend is that I have every Monday- Thursday off! It has allowed us to do a lot this summer but for some reason we still haven't made it up to my parent's cabin.  I guess I didn't want to go with out the hubby but I finally decided that we were going to go any ways. It's about a 4 hour drive.  The boys did really well. There was only one throw up (from Abel-note to self no gummy snacks on the next road trip) and a little bit crying from the littlest one but over all they all traveled really well.  Axel picked out an audio book and we drove with out stopping all the way to the cabin. Cheers to kids that travel well.
Had to hit the beach right away!

Every year- have to stop at Zorbaz for pizza

And games

More beach/lake time

Swimming until the sun sets

Playing games late at night

Nature walk- finding worms

Fishing!!!

Worms
The boys were SO happy to go fishing.  I totally women'd up and helped them fish.  I normally have my dad here to do the dirty work but no way would I have them miss fishing at the cabin! We didn't catch any thing but it was worth the entertainment!

This is the life!

A surprise visit from Dad!! I guess he was bored with out us :) It was so nice to have him crash our cabin trip!
Big and Hank made it too

The turtle race
A tradition that has been apart of my summers since I was little. So much fun to get my boys up to Perham and have them experience all the stuff I remember as a kid.

The loaner turtles

Mark, Set, Go!

It was hard to get great pictures while helping the turtle races.  But in the end ABEL WON!!! I can't even believe it. He was SO excited!! Way to go little turtle!!
Photo Op with the turtles

Ooops- those claws :)
No turtles were hurt during the races :) They may have been dropped but luckily he was okay and even ready to race again.

The winner!!

The way home

Thanks for a great week boys.
