Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons for Axel and Abel.
The first day it started to rain and rain hard during the lessons.  Ansel was not bothered by the rain.  I stood under the shelter and he stayed in the rain.  He giggled and stomped his feet!
Learning swimming skills

Abel was a little nervous this year and not to sure about this swimming lesson thing.  He slowly started to warm up to the idea.

My Hero's

Super Pup and Abel

I'm so glad I have brave boys in the house to keep me safe and rescue me from gross bugs.  Here is my story:
The other day I'm doing laundry.  I look down at my feet and see a HUGE spider almost touching my bare foot.  I of course scream and run out of the laundry room.  I decide that I would not do laundry the rest of the day. I pace by the door of the laundry room all day- each time I peaked in the room the spider was still there looking right at me.  I have no shame and finally talk Axel and Abel into going in the laundry room with the vacuum.  The laundry room opens-  Axel is ready with the vacuum -I'm screaming and Abel walks right up to the spider and looks at it. I pull him back to save him from the huge spider jumping his way.  I scream more. Abel says Mom I don't think that spider is real. I scream more because he wants to touch it.  Abel then wants to save the spider and cry's because he doesn't want me to vacuum him up.  I love his sweat soul but spiders freak me out.  And this one is HUGE! All of a sudden Abel just walks right up and grabs the spider!!!!!

He says "Mom, it's a fake Spider!! It's a Spider ring!!!
I have to laugh looking back at how scared I was of that spider that didn't move next to my washing machine. Thanks Boys for saving your Mom!! You still might not have clean clothes if you hadn't!
* Abel then had to put on his spider t-shirt to mock me the rest of the day.  He kept having the spider show up at locations around me. :)

Bikes

Learning to ride a bike is an important part of being a kid. We rode our bikes every where.  This summer I wanted to focus on getting the boys to really ride their bikes- can't wait for family bike rides! It hard for the boys to get confidence from biking around our house because of the hills. So I started taking thm to the cemetery that is only a few blocks from our house. The paths are a perfect place to gain bike confidence!  No cars to worry about and lot's of paths to ride on.  It'll be so much fun once we can hit the bike trails in town.  I have to get myself a bike!  Next summer hopefully we call can be cruising.

4th of July

Abel had to stop and see Mator!
Hope every one had a great 4th of July! We spent the weekend in Cannon Falls- fair rides, parades, bon-fires and fire works.  Not a bad way to spend the weekend!
Fair rides!

Just watching this year

The Gravatron..

Axel had to go on the 'big rides' this year.  He went on it twice- in a row! He was a little green after the second time. :)

Axel sweaty and feeling yucky after his rides
The fair rides ended shortly after Axel rode the Gravatron twice. He was feeling dizzy, sweaty and looked pretty green.  Brian and I stopped to get some cheese curds and a milk shake. Once Axel said he wanted to go home- Now- we new it was for real. So we cut it short and headed home.  About 10 minutes after we got home Axel threw up! The next day he said he would do it all over again! What a trooper.  And that is why I don't like rides any more. :)
Getting ready for the parade!

A few fireworks

We didn't go see the 'big' fireworks this year. One more year maybe and then every one will be old enough to stay up that late.  Happy 4th !!
