Santa and Red Nose

The boys went to visit Santa last weekend. I love bringing them to Santa and having the pictures taken. We missed it last year because of COVID. This year I know they did it mostly for me or it could have been the 5 guys burgers after ? Either way it made me happy and they even kinda smiled! They even wore their Santa hats! 

Santa wish list : Abel - cell phone , Ansel- chocolate pudding fruit, Axel- new key board. These were sorta on the lists that we wrote down before ?

 Axel was invited (by a girl) to dance with the dance team! Of course we had to come and watch . For some reason my video isn’t uploaded but it was so fun to watch. The boys did one dance with the girls during their show.

Yummy! I love to get one huge batch of lefsa done each year. It’s a whole day of work but SO worth it! This is the 3rd year of making lefsa. I think it keeps getting better. I like mine with sugar and B likes his with brown sugar. The boys will take it either way! Love having this in our holiday baking routine. 

Abel's 1st communion

 We celebrated Abel's 1st communion.  We honestly didn't know if we were going to do or not.  We decided last minute to have him complete it.  It's been a challenge lately knowing how much religion to push on the kids.  It's something that both B and I did when we were kids and want to the kids to understand the foundation of religion.  Or course they challenge the conversation.  I have continued to be challenged myself with religion and how much to have it a part of our lives.  We have been filtering in more activities with COVID still being a big factor on how much to socialize.  I apologize that we didn't invite any one to help us celebrate him.  We didn't have much time and didn't invite any one.  It's not that we didn't want you there we just didn't have much time to figure it out.

COVID vaccine for the boys

Ansel and Abel finally got their chance to get their first dose of the COVID vaccine! This is what our family has chosen to keep us and others safe. COVID is not going away- it’s real and harsh. Our hospitals are getting hit hard- really hard. I continue to pray and hope for my front line staff and peers that things will lighten up. For now I try to keep my head up and stay positive. My boys are one step closer to being protected the best way we can. This year I’m thankful for a healthy family and the COVID vaccine for my kids .
