Robotics competition

Name of their team

Axel's team got 2nd place in the short program!

We all got to attend Axel's robotic competition this year.  His brothers has fun seeing what it's all about.  The group work on a long program through out the year. Then they have 30 minutes to reprogram the robotic to a new setting.  I understand nothing about the programming but it's fun to watch  the team problem solving the new task.  Axel's group received 2nd place for the short program!  Way to go guys!

The Happiness Jar

Last January I started a Happiness Jar with the boys.  I told them we would write down good memories and experiences we had through out the year, then at the end of the year we will read them all to see all the great things that we forget about that make us happy or positive.  At the beginning they totally thought was a little goofy but after a bit I started to hear write that down and put it in the jar!  It was fun to read different things that brought joy to each person this year.

Wanna build a snowman?

Ansel did not want to play in the snow

Snowball fights at 10 pm!

The Snowman!

Winter is not my favorite time of the year but instead of pouting about the snow sometimes you just have to get your gear on and go play! This was the best snowman snow! Aahhh... it’s winter now.

Lefse

My sister Larisa and I took a Lefse making class.  It was so much fun to learn the process and hear a little it of the history.  I always remember having lefse at my Grandma Bev's for the holidays.  If you haven't had lefse before it is a potato flat bread that you put butter and sugar on it.  (or jam).

Using the stick to flip the lefse

The next weekend I got the gear I needed to bring the lefse making home.  I love the idea of teaching my kids and starting a yearly tradition of making lefse for the holidays.  Each one rolled out the dough and dad helped them with the grill.
