UBC

We went to Uncle Brian and Aunt Dawn's Cabin last weekend.  We had such a great time.  It was cold and snowy but the boys loved being outside.  We went hiking, ate a ton of food, played in the snow, got rides on the tractor and hung out by the fire.  Thank's Core and Dawn for the fun weekend! The boys said- I love this place and best weekend ever!

Learning to grieve

I've been struggling with words to describe the loss our family has endured. Eric's death came by suicide.  It has been a terrible, tragic loss.  Eric was Brian's cousin.  They grew up together and have so many wonderful stories that only the two of them know.  Eric was more then just a cousin to Brian, he was like a brother.  Eric has been through struggles in life but I guess we didn't know how lost he was.  Eric's death has taken us all to a daze that we are trying to figure out.  I'm saddened that he did reach out to us, I'm saddened that we didn't reach out to him, I'm saddened that we didn't know how deep his mind was confused, I'm just sad, so so sad.  Eric I want you to know that we have always loved you and will continue too.  Brian is missing his brother.  I take a deep breath and wipe tears from my face thinking that you get to sit next to Aunt Jennifer.  I know that she is welcoming you with one of her most amazing hugs.  We will continue to figure out this grief process in our own way and learn to cope with out you in our lives.  I know Brian misses you so much.
